May is National Celiac Disease Awareness Month and, in conjunction with that campaign, SOHO would like to remind diners that the restaurant offers gluten-free dishes for both lunch and dinner.

The entire gluten-free lunch and dinner menus can be found here. Signature SOHO appetizers that can be found on the gluten-free menu include: chicken tortilla soup, with pulled chicken, tortilla chips, avocado, tomatoes, corn, cheese, chili and lime; farm-raised Prince Edward Island mussels served with lemongrass and serrano white wine broth; and hanger steak tacos served with soft corn tortillas, tomatillo salsa, guacamole and sour cream.

SOHO's also offers gluten-free diners numerous entree options on the lunch and dinner menu. The lunch menu includes: a noodle bowl with rice noodles, shrimp, chicken, bok choy, and Chinese five spice chicken broth; blackened mahi tacos with soft corn tortillas, spicy red cabbage and a citrus sauce; and a maple-glazed salmon salad with a key lime vinaigrette.

The dinner menu includes: a grilled pork chop served with herb roasted potatoes, pear sauce and seasonal vegetables; a Scottish salmon glazed with Mayhew BBQ sauce served with roasted fingerlings and sauteed swiss chard; and Painted Hills beef short ribs served with celery root potato puree, sauteed spinach and tomato, and a natural reduction.

For gluten-free diners looking to quench their thirst, SOHO does offer a gluten-free Tito's Vodka and Green's Amber Ale.

We hope to see you soon!

SOHO's extensive appetizer menu is filled with delicious choices – from Chef Joe's signature calamari to the Kobe beef carpaccio. Gluten-free guests may love the farm-raised organic Prince Edward Island mussels or the hanger steak tacos on corn torillas. Whether or not your diet is gluten-free, the hanger steak tacos are not to be missed – the dish has recently returned to SOHO's menu after a brief hiatus. We hope you'll visit the restaurant soon and try one of SOHO's savory starters.

For those who are interested in creating one of Chef Joe's appetizers at home, here is his recipe for hanger steak tacos with homemade guacamole and tomatillo sauce.

SOHO Steak Tacos (serves 4)
4 corn or flour tortilla shells
4 oz hanger steak (grilled)
1/2 head lettuce (shredded)
1 tomato (diced)

Wrap shells in foil and warm in 350 degree oven until hot and softened. Top with 1 oz hanger steak. Add lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour cream and tomatillo sauce.

SOHO is happy to let our gluten-free guests know that we have varied – and delicious – gluten-free menus available for lunch and dinner.

Our gluten-free lunch and dinner menus feature two delectable soups– SOHO’s chicken tortilla soup (with avocado, tomatoes, corn, cheese, chilies and lime), as well as our seasonal butternut squash soup.  We also offer three gluten-free salads – including a spinach salad (with red onion, egg and a bacon vinaigrette) and a house-made fresh mozzarella and tomato salad.

Gluten-free lunch entrées include the noodle bowl (noodles, shrimp, chicken, bok choy and Chinese five spice chicken broth), as well as the maple grilled salmon salad (maple-glazed salmon filet over field greens with a key lime vinaigrette) and a grilled hanger steak salad (with mixed greens, grilled portabellas, red onion, tomatoes and white balsamic vinaigrette).

SOHO’s gluten-free dinner menu features six entrees, including a blackened wild grouper served with red rice and a crawfish buerre blanc and seasonal vegetables, as well as our Berkshire pork tenderloin served with roasted fingerling potatoes, asparagus and a pomegranate molasses. The Painted Hills beef short ribs, served with Yukon mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach and tomatoes, and a natural reduction sauce are another delicious gluten-free entrée choice.

Hungry yet? SOHO’s full gluten-free lunch menu can be found here and gluten-free dinner menu can be found here. We hope you’ll join us soon!
