First, SOHO will pour a 2018 Escudo Rojo Reserva Carmenere from Valle del Colchagua, Chile.
Carmine red with a purple tint. Powerful and complex with intense, forward fruit, the nose opens on black plum and blackberry aromas mingled with notes of spice. The wine has a balanced concentration and acidity, with very round, silky and fine tannins.
The second wine is 2018 Bodegas Catena Zapata San Carlos Cabernet Franc from Mendoza, Argentina.
The Catena Cabernet Franc presents a purple color with red ruby tones. The nose offers elegant aromas of spices, and fresh herbs as thyme and rosemary, red berries, cassis and raspberries. The mouthfeel is full and rich with cassis, raspberries flavors and notes of black pepper.
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2017 Cousino-Macul Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon from Valle del Maipo, Chile.
A deep intense and bright ruby red color. With aromas of red fruits such strawberry, cherries and blackberries giving way to touches of eucalyptus. On the palate, it is an elegant wine with good structure, with medium acidity, soft tannins and a medium-long finish.
SOHO’s Executive Chef Todd Paige has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines:
Escudo Rojo Reserva Carmenere, 2018
Valle del Colchagua, Chile
