Let’s raise a glass, and say goodbye to 2020 tonight at Flight Night!🍷 This is the last week of our guest favorite wines from this year, so let’s take one more sip, (or a few) and give a nod to a better 2021.

Please make reservations with us for social distancing measures for everyone’s safety here: http://ow.ly/uUGJ50BsXoW

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday December 30th, and the wines and their tapas will be available until January 5th, 2021.

First, SOHO will pour a Corvidae Lenore Syrah 2016 from Washington State.

“The Lenore Syrah is aromatic with rich, sweet berry notes of blueberry, boysenberry, red currant and plum. The mouthwateting acidity is nicely balanced with firm tannins and layers of bright bramble fruit. As this wine coats the palate, underlying hints of vanilla bean, peppercorn and sweet tobacco shine through. A robust finish includes chocolate and raspberry.”

The second wine is a Le Volte Dell’ Ornellaia 2017 from Bolgheri. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Son of a particularly hot, dry year, Le Volte dell’ Ornellaia 2017 is characterised by its usual deep ruby red colour. A pleasant bouquet of ripe red fruits and spices is sustained on the palate by crisp acidity and an open, enveloping tannic structure.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Daou Cabernet 2018 from Paso Robles. Notes on the wine,

“… currant, black cherry, cedar and eucalyptus, and displays undertones of briar blackberry and wet gravel. Ancillary aromas of coffee and cocoa are rounded out nicely with notes of crushed sage and baking spice. Finish is surprisingly elegant for a wine of such power. Silky and smooth, ending on lovely notes of sweet cherry and boysenberry.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Todd Paige has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines:

Corvidae Lenore Syrah 2016
100% Syrah
Paired with: Fish and Chips, Homemade Tartare Sauce

Le Volte Dell’ Ornellaia 2017
Merlot, Sangiovese, and Cabernet
Paired with: Sausage Ravioli, Basil Cream

Daou Cabernet 2018
Cabernet Sauvignon
Paired with: Soy Glazed Ribeye, Garlic Mash

Sample each wine in a flight (three three-ounce glasses) for $14.75. Or, pair the flight with a tapa plate for $19.50. Try a full glass of wine and tapa plate for $14. Of course, the wines and tapas are available individually as well ($9.75/glass and $6.75/tapas)

Can’t make it to Flight Night on Wednesday? No worries! While our pairings debut on Wednesdays, they’re available through the following Tuesday, so you have all week to catch up on the featured wines and tapas.

We can’t wait to see you!

“Capturing the eye, charming the nose and enchanting the palate, the 2015 Rose Rock Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir has a velvety approach and focused structure. Balanced and long on the palate, the elegance shines through many layers of flavors. This is a wine that will be delicious young but that has a bright future.”

The second wine is a Cuvelier Los Andes 2015 from Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Appearance: intense violet-red with ruby reflections. Aroma: dark fruits with hints of marmalade and violets; fruity and expressive. Mouth: medium-intensity in the mouth, balanced and velvety.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Trefethen Oak Knoll Cabernet 2017 from Oak Knoll, Napa Valley. Notes on the wine,

“Ripe, focused flavors of cherry, boysenberry, and black currants are complemented by soft notes of cedar, bay leaf, and a savory earthiness. On the palate, this wine has a fruit-driven entry balanced with firm tannins
that give way to a lush, lingering finish.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Todd Paige has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines:

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday December 9th, and the wines and their tapas will be available until December 15th.

First, SOHO will pour a Maison Louis Latour Pouilly Fuisse 2018 from Beaune, France.

“The wine shows a green-gold colour, and delicate fruit aromas of melons and pears with underlying notes of almonds on the nose that are disarmingly seductive. On the palate there is a round and full herbal fruitiness that complements the crisp acidity leading to a satisfying finish.”

The second wine is a Ancient Peaks Zinfandel 2018 from Paso Robles. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“The 2018 Zinfandel offers deep, savory aromas of black cherry and plum with notes of vanilla, tobacco and dusty spice. Bright, brambly flavors of red raspberry and boysenberry unfold across a juicy texture with hints of cedar wood and black tea. Fresh acidity adds lift and structure to a sleek, peppery finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Andronicus Red Wine 2018 from Napa Valley. Notes on the wine,

“The 2018 Andronicus is a wine that well represents the Bordeaux Blend profile that this program exemplifies. Aromatics of concentrated raspberry, chocolate dust and crushed flower petal are followed by a flavor profile of spiced fruit, raspberry compote and hints of vanilla and crème brulee. As is customary, the concentrated mid-palate and round tannins make this wine delicious upon release, while giving it the ageability one would expect from a fine Napa Valley blend.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Todd Paige has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines:

Maison Louis Latour Pouilly Fuisse 2018
100% Chardonnay
Paired with: Blackened Mahi with Pineapple and Mango Salsa

Ancient Peaks Zinfandel 2018
90% Zinfandel, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Petite Syrah
Paired with: Lamb Stew, Grilled Bread

Andronicus Red Wine 2018
56% Cabernet, 18% Cab Franc, 10% Malbec, 10% Petite Sirah, 6% Petit Verdot
Paired with: Crispy Chicken with Saffron Rice

Sample each wine in a flight (three three-ounce glasses) for $14.75. Or, pair the flight with a tapa plate for $19.50. Try a full glass of wine and tapa plate for $14. Of course, the wines and tapas are available individually as well ($9.75/glass and $6.75/tapas)

“The 2019 Arriviste captures the vintage’s outstanding growing conditions in a mouth-watering package: a Cabernet, Merlot, and Cab Franc blend with dark peach color and striking aromas of cherry, violet, iris and Oolong tea. Flavors of cherry, nectarine, blackberry, and grapefruit combine for a rich, full-flavored rosé with balanced acidity. Finishes long and silky with plum, black currant, raspberry, and pineapple.”

The second wine is a MacRostie Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast. The wine is described by the winemaker,
