This Flight Night begins on Wednesday October 21th, and the wines and their tapas will be available until October 27th.
First, SOHO will pour a Ministry of the Vinterior Pinot Noir 2017 from Russian River Valley.
“This intriguing Pinot Noir opens with aromas of cherries, orange peel, violets, and fig leaf. The spicy mouth is densely layered with flavors of dried Turkish apricots and vanilla bean, and the finish lingers long with flavors of rich caramel and cloves.”
The second wine is a Folie à Deux Merlot 2017 from Alexander Valley, CA. The wine is described by the winemaker,
“Bright, enticing blackberry, ripe cherries, dried fig and tea aromas with notes of tasty oak on the nose. The vanilla, Cherrywood smoke, chocolate and black raspberry flavors are concentrated and focused on the palate. This wine is full-bodied and fleshy with balanced acidity and fine-grained cocoa powder tannins on the finish.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a Dry Creek Cabernet 2017 from Dry Creek Valley, CA. Notes on the wine,
“Aromatics of black cherry, black currant and dried cranberry. Additional airing reveals nuances of dried flowers, nutmeg, white pepper and cedar. The palate is full-bodied and rich with elegant flavors of ripe raspberry, black currant and fresh boysenberry with notes of cocoa powder, bay leaf, sage and sweet pipe tobacco. The wine is complex and youthful, with bright fruit characters and vibrant spice. ”
SOHO’s Executive Chef Todd Paige has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
