🍇 Say adios to España: Flight Night is TONIGHT! We’re finishing off August with the finale of spanish wines, and some ridiculously tasty tapas to go with them. Join us for you mid-week break, and make reservations with us here: http://ow.ly/DBKK50B0Pnz

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday August 26th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through September 1st.

First, SOHO will pour a Bodegas Viña Nora Albariño 2018 from Rias Baixas, Spain.

“It has a bright, straw-yellow color with green shades and a high aromatic intensity. Fruity, with notes of pear and white flowers, such as honeysuckle. Albariño’s varietal aromas and the mineral character of the soil are emphasized in this wine. On the palate, it is a well-structured, full-bodied and elegant wine in which its aging in the bottle is present.”

The second wine is a Tosalet Priorat 2015 from Priorat, Spain. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Clear deep dark purple colour. Pure and very intense aromas reminiscent of red berry fruit such as cranberries, red cherries and raspberries combined with mineral notes of flint and hints of eucalyptus. The palate is
dry, full bodied with rich concentrated juicy fruit, firm but ripe tannins and a refreshing acidity making this a great food wine.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Marques de Marietta Rioja Riserva ‘15 from Rioja, Spain. Notes on the wine,

“With a bright ruby color, Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2015, exhibits a significant and open nose with strawberries, cranberries and redcurrant jam aromas. The intense fruity expression stands out over a spiced bed made from thyme, laurel and red black pepper within the distinguishable Mediterranean herbs of our Ygay Estate.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Todd Paige has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

The second wine is a Bodegas Borsao Zarihs 2015 from Campo de Borja, Spain. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Appearance: Opaque red-black. Crimson purple rim. Aroma: Powerful impression of blackberries, with a hint of wood smoke and sweet vanilla. The nose begins to open up and develops notes of dark chocolate. Palate: The initial impact is very full bodied, with a plush, soft structure. Flavors of dark berries dominate; wild blackberries and dried plums, with notes of espresso coffee.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Bodegas Luzon Altos de Luzon 2013 from Jumilla, Spain. Notes on the wine,

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday August 12th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through August 18th.

First, SOHO will pour a Bodegas La Caña Albariño 2019 from Rias Baixas, Spain.

“Light, bright yellow. Lively, sharply focused scents of lime zest, green apple, jasmine, tarragon and ginger. Dry and taut on the palate, offering vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a hint of smoky minerals that
builds with air. The floral note comes back strong on the finish, which shows excellent clarity and firm mineral bite. This wine was
aged in stainless steel tanks, with some lees stirring to add body.”

The second wine is a Celler Cal Pla Black Slate Porrera 2018 from Priorat, Spain. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“The wine has a traditional profile, with ripe fruit and noticeable impact from the oak, following the house style. The palate is medium to full-bodied with some dusty tannins and an earthy finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Finca Allende Rioja 2011 from Rioja, Spain. Notes on the wine,

“Intense cherry color with purple hints. On the nose, fruit sensations (blackberries, blueberries, black fruits) dominate the perfectly integrated tones conveyed by aging in wood barrels that provide sensations of cedar and tobacco.”
