It’s safe to say that at this point in the year, (due to COVID) that we’re all REALLY looking forward to our next vacation. Hands up if you’d hop on a plane ASAP to hit Napa for the weekend?!

In the meantime, we can dream of future adventures, drink fabulous wines from California, and be thankful of our health and safety. Sound good?

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday May 27th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through June 2nd. A big request below:

Our seating capacity is limited, and has been reduced by 50%, so please make your reservations below so that we may ensure proper social distancing protocols to keep our guests and employees safe. We appreciate you!

First, SOHO will pour a Hahn SLH Pinot Noir 2017 from Santa Lucia Highlands.  The winemaker offers,

“The aromas exhibit scents of black cherries with hints of spice. The flavors are crisp and intense. They range from black cherries to boysenberries and plum skin. The cool climate of the Highlands adds a note of refreshing acidity to the overall profile making this a delicious Pinot to be enjoyed in its youth or aged for several years for a more mature wine experience.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Hames Valley Vineyard VDR 2015 from Monterey County. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“VDR is full-bodied yet supple, with deep, ripe fruit flavors of black currant and black raspberry perfumed by delicate notes of crushed violet. A firm, chalky tannin structure belies the velvety, luscious mouthfeel. Dense flavors integrate beautifully for a long, layered finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a The Paring Red 2015 from Paso Robles. Notes on the wine,

“Utterly fascinating nose mixing lifted black fruit, savory green herbs and daring notes of grilled bread, espresso and anise. Fills the palate with bright red fruit and black plum. Mulberry sweetness and a wonderful tension between tannic structure and bright acidity. Balanced and refined, a study in elegance.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

Hahn SLH Pinot Noir 2017
100% Pinot Noir
Paired with: Whipped Goat Cheese Crostini, Red Wine-Cherry Compote

Hames Valley Vineyard VDR 2015

Paired with: Sea Bass Bacalao Fritters, Red Wine Aioli

The Paring Red 2015
Cabernet Sauvignon: 50%, Merlot: 20%, Cabernet Franc: 20%, Petit Verdot: 10%

Sample each wine in a flight (three three-ounce glasses) for $14.75. Or, pair the flight with a tapa plate for $19.50. Try a full glass of wine and tapa plate for $14. Of course, the wines and tapas are available individually as well ($9.75/glass and $6.75/tapas)

Can’t make it to Flight Night on Wednesday? No worries! While our pairings debut on Wednesdays, they’re available through the following Tuesday, so you have all week to catch up on the featured wines and tapas.

First, SOHO will pour a Bernardus Pinot Noir 2017 from Santa Lucia Highlands.

Next, SOHO will pour a Zaca Mesa Syrah 2014 from Santa Ynez Valley. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“This Syrah is a striking example of the 2014 vintage. Vivid dark berry fruits meld with cured meat, leather, and iron, to create a mesmerizing bouquet. It’s full bodied with a lush middle palate, persistent with flavors of ripe black cherry, and plum skin. The fleshy tannins linger, with hints of toasted French oak.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Vina Robles “The Arborist” 2017 from Paso Robles. Notes on the wine,

“Color: Garnet. Aroma: Cherries and plum with hints of juniper berry, fine tobacco and chocolate. Taste: Medium body with dark stone fruits, soft textured tannins into the finish.”
