What a treat! 3 perfect California red wines are here at SOHO, and boy are your tastebuds going to be happy! Check out Chef Joey’s creative tapas that are amazingly delicious paired with the wines, or even on their own. We can’t wait to see what you think, so come see us at 5:30 in Vinings!

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday March 3rd, and the wines and their tapas will be available through March 9th.

First, SOHO will pour a The Calling Pinot Noir 2018 from Monterey County.  The winemaker offers,

“Candied Bing cherry and fresh hibiscus aromas make this an immediately likable bottling by Jim Nantz and his team, while the star anise, gingerbread and sweet herb aromas add complexity. The palate is lively and fresh with more red fruit and flowers as well as cinnamon and wild chaparral spices, leading into a eucalyptus-oil-kissed finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Tablas Creek Patelin de Tables 2016 from Paso Robles. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“The 2016 Patelin de Tablas has a darkly fruity, Syrah-driven nose of black cherry, blackberry, pepper spice, meat drippings, and pipe tobacco, with a little sweet anise spice providing lift. The mouth shows a balance of fruitier and more savory notes, with cool, minty, cherry skin flavors and notes of pine forest and wood smoke that emerge with air.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Daou Cabernet 2018 from Paso Robles. Notes on the wine,

“… currant, black cherry, cedar and eucalyptus, and displays undertones of briary blackberry and wet gravel. Ancillary aromas of coffee and cocoa are rounded out nicely with notes of crushed sage and baking spice. Finish is surprisingly elegant for a wine of such power. Silky and smooth, ending on lovely notes of sweet cherry and boysenberry.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

First, SOHO will pour a Au Bon Climat Chardonnay 2017 from Santa Barbara County.  The winemaker offers,

“The 2017 Santa Barbara County Chardonnay is a beautiful example of the Au Bon Climat style. The flinty, stony aromas stand out while in the background is a hard spice note from surlee barrel aging. There are notes of lemon-lime and soft vanilla. With the first taste it is irresistible.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Ancient Peaks Zinfandel 2016 from Paso Robles. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“The 2016 Zinfandel jumps out of the glass with bold aromas of cherry jam, wild blackberry, violets, kirsch, and toasty oak. A rich, viscous texture is packed with dense flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, cola and spicy vanilla. Lively notes of black pepper add focus to a smooth, jammy finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Iron & Sand Cabernet 2017 from Paso Robles. Notes on the wine,

“A layered and well-structured Paso Robles Cabernet with black fruit aromas and rich, mouthwatering flavors, balanced with velvety tannins and a lively acidity profile.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
