Come tour the wineries of the southern hemisphere at SOHO! Which country will you try first, New Zealand, or South Africa?🍷🤔 Either way, you’re in for a treat with this week’s wine flights and tapas pairings! We’ll be waiting for you at 5:30 pm….

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday, November 20th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through December 3rd.

First, SOHO will pour a Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2019 from Marlborough, New Zealand.  The winemaker offers,

“The palate is concentrated and mouthwatering, with juicy stone fruit and subtle tropical characters underpinned by a fine minerality and Meyer lemon acidity”

Next, SOHO will pour a Petit Clos Pinot Noir 2017 from Marlborough, New Zealand. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Pinot Noir grapes from our youngest blocks deliver vibrant, youthful wine that are fruit driven and lively yet elegant with supple tannins and lovely balance. Petit Clos Pinot Noir tells the promising potential of our terroir and is the open door that teases you to go on to discover our estate wines.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Boekenhoutskloof Chocolate Block 2017 from Western Cape, South Africa. Notes on the wine,

“The nose is dense and brooding, yet opulent, with its compote of dark, ripe plums and blackberry and attractive whiffs of liquorice, violets, cocoa and mint. The black fruit and perfume of the nose follow through onto a rich, savory palate with flavors of dark cherry, red currant, black olives and cured meat. Fine grained, svelte tannins are in perfect balance with the lemony acidity, lending complexity to the mid-palate. The wine is full-bodied with a rich, smooth mouthfeel.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Paired with: Veggie Eggrolls, Sweet & Sour Mustard Sauce

Petit Clos Pinot Noir 2017
100% Pinot Noir
Paired with: Salt & Pepper Calamari, Sweet Chili Sauce

Boekenhoutskloof Chocolate Block 2017
Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault, and Viognier
Paired with: Red Curry Steak Skewers

Sample each wine in a flight (three three-ounce glasses) for $14.75. Or, pair the flight with a tapa plate for $19.50. Try a full glass of wine and tapa plate for $14. Of course, the wines and tapas are available individually as well ($9.75/glass and $6.75/tapas)

Can’t make it to Flight Night on Wednesday? No worries! While our pairings debut on Wednesdays, they’re available through the following Tuesday, so you have all week to catch up on the featured wines and tapas.
