First, SOHO will pour a Mauritson Sauvignon Blanc 2016 from Dry Creek Valley.  The winemaker offers,

“Aromas of candied grapefruit, magnolia leaf, crushed river gravel, and hints of wild chamomile dance from the glass. The entry is bright and inviting. On the palate, complex flavors of candied lime, evening honeysuckle, and orange honeydew flesh give way to an energetic finish that is focused and fresh. Enjoy this wine with light appetizers, salads, seafood dishes or on its own on a warm summer evening.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir 2015 from Carneros, Napa Valley. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“The heady aromatics and refined silkiness of pinot noir show themselves here with a swirl of wild dark cherry and ripe, red plum aromas seamlessly layered with hints of dusty cocoa and dried herb complexity finishing with an intriguing touch of pink peppercorn spice to round out the lush fruit. 100% Pinot Noir.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Valravn Old Vine Zinfandel 2017 from Dry Creek Valley. Notes on the wine,

“Bright aromas of dark cherry and black raspberry with slight undertones of white pepper spice. The palate is warm with dark fruit flavors of blueberry, cassis, and blackberry compote which are complemented with briary notes and an energetic freshness. Strikes ideal balance of tannins, fruit and acidity.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

First, SOHO will pour a Luna Reserve Chardonnay 2017 from Napa Valley.  The winemaker offers,

“Lemon and honey on the nose; tangerine, green apple, creamy toasted almond, and citrus on the palate.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Roth Red Blend 2016 from Alexander Valley. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Our 2016 Reserve Red wine is a classic Bordeaux blend with inviting aromas of black plum, blackberry, cedar and baking spices. Bright red fruits, minerality and vanilla bean complement the well-integrated tannins. Juicy raspberry and earthy notes provide depth and detail for a lingering finish. While approachable now, it will benefit from a few years in the cellar.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 from Sonoma. Notes on the wine,

“The 2016 Sonoma is all about big fruit, offering layered aromas of black cherry and woodland berries. Ripe fruit character carries through on the palate along with undertones of caramel and cedar. Bright and juicy, with a plush and velvety texture, this wine is readily enjoyable on its own and versatile enough to be paired with anything from casual pub fare to a classic ribeye.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

First, SOHO will pour a Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon ‘16 from Napa Valley.  The winemaker offers,

“Our 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon delivers mouth filling, deeply intense blackberry fruit across the palate with clove and cardamom spice complexity and dusty tannins that add structure to the juicy fullness of the fruit.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Plungerhead Zinfandel 2016 from Lodi. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Our 2016 Plungerhead Old Vine Zinfandel holds a dark ruby color with aromas of brambly raspberry, fresh-from-the-oven cherry pie, cinnamon-infused tea, toasted cedar and clove. The flavors start with touches of Bing cherry, sweetened cranberry, raspberry jam, caramel and toasted coconut. The finish lingers with a medium body and notes of dried cranberry, Mexican vanilla and a round mouthfeel from American Oak aging.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Highway 12 Red Blend 2016 from Sonoma. Notes on the wine,

“A fruity leathery nose offers a glimpse into what unfolds on the palate. Hefty bright notes of ripe plum, currant jelly and a tinge of tobacco fill the senses with the first sip. As this breathes, it morphs into something exceptionally smooth and round, a result of the introduction of soft tannins and lightly burnt toffee oak.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
