Ready to go on a fun trip for Flight Night? Take a tour of our favorite South American wineries with us! What’s better than 3 awesome reds + 3 perfect chef’s tapas to munch on? We’ll be ready TONIGHT at 5:30 pm for you; see you then!
This Flight Night begins on Wednesday, June 12th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through June 18th.
First, SOHO will pour a Alcance Carmenere Reserve 2016 from Maule Valley, Chile. The winemaker offers,
“The 2016 Alcance Carmenere is expressive and vibrant. Dark berries, fresh spices and delicate notes of cedar on the nose are followed by a concentrated, long finish on the palate. These rich flavors all come together seamlessly in a beautiful, complex wine that pairs well with any occasion.
Next, SOHO will pour a Lapostolle Merlot 2015 from Rapel Valley, Chile. The wine is described by the winemaker,
“Color: Clean burgundy color with cherry hues. Nose: Expressive nose of red and black fruit such as blackberry along with fresh aromas such as thyme and black pepper. Palate: Medium body with a good fruit expresion. Good balance among components.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a Archaval Ferrer Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 from Mendoza, Argentina. Notes on the wine,
“ Ruby red in color with intense aromas of plum and tobacco on the nose and palate. This big, old world wine offers refined, dusty tannins, a truffled note and bright, peppery acidity that carries red fruit flavors through to a subtle and persistent finish. Low yields, careful vineyard management and low intervention winemaking are the hallmark of this and all other Archaval-Ferrer wines.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
