Sangiovese lovers are going to be so excited! This week’s features are a delightful threesome of Italian wines that really illustrate the richness of the region’s grapes.  Paired with three different tapas that are slightly richer in palatability, our guests will find respite from the cold Atlanta weather within our little restaurant. We look forward to enjoying this week’s Flight Night with you!

This Flight Night begins on Wednesday, January 16th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through January 26th.

First, SOHO will pour a Tua Rita Rosso dei Notri 2016 from Tuscany, Italy.  The winemaker offers,

“Deep ruby red in color, with aromas of black fruits, namely blackberries, plums and ripe black cherries over more subtle notes of cocoa, licorice and sweet spice. On the palate, the wine is smooth, with silky tannins and bracing acidity, showing structural balance long into the finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Pietro Beconcini Maurleo 2014 from Tuscany, Italy. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Color: purple-edged deep ruby Nose: Rich, berry fruit and subtle vanilla Palate: lovely velvety texture, supported by expressive tannins, and exhibiting all the smoothness typical of the Malvasia grape.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva 2015 from Chianti Classico, Tuscany. Notes on the wine,

“Cherry and violet aromas, persistent and rounded flavors of spices and mushroom. Great structure with elegant finesse.”
