Where did July go?  There we were, enjoying our tour of French wines, and BOOM: we’re in the final week.

But, alas, we have one more glorious week of great french wine, and personally, we think we’ve saved the best for last! What do YOU think? Did you have a favorite? Feel free to tell us what you’d like to see again in the future, we’re listening!

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday, July 25th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through July 30th.

First, SOHO will pour a Nicolas Potel Pouilly FuissÊ 2013 from Mâcon. The winemaker offers,

“Colour: Pretty pale yellow colour. Bouquet: Starting with mineral notes, and developing into smoky, toasted notes prior to revealing aromas of orange blossom. Palate: Straightforward and lively, with elegant complexity and a lemon finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits Jean-Claude Boisset 2016 from Côtes de Nuit. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Visual: dark ruby red. Nose: open, aromas of black fruits, cherry and violet. Few notes of licorice. Palate: a clear wine with a good acidity and soft tanins.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Famille Perrin Châteauneuf du Pape Les Sinards 2015 from Chateauneuf du Pape. Notes on the wine,

“2015 is an exceptional vintage in the appellation. This wine expresses marvelously the beauty of the vintage. Intense red with purple reflections, Les Sinards 2015 expresses an intense bouquet of red and black fruit, sweet spices, noble wood and mineral notes. The mouth is incredibly balanced between freshness and volume, the tannins are fine and elegant, the finish is very long, aromatic, and sweet.

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

It’s the ultimate conundrum: it’s really hot in Atlanta, but we still want to drink red wine! What’s a wine lover to do?

Spoiler: you drink some fabulous french reds that don’t make you feel like you need a nap in an air-conditioned room! We have three of our favorites for you this week, and some fan-favorite french inspired tapas that are perfectly light, and perfectly paired.

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday, July 18th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through July 24th.

First, SOHO will pour a Joseph Drouhin Laforèt 2016 from Bourgogne. The winemaker offers,

“A wine full of charm: bright ruby colour and a nose rich with aromas of red fruit (raspberry, red currants, wild strawberry). On the palate, the wine is pleasant, fruity and refreshing, with light tannins and great elegance.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Chateau De Saint Cosme CĂ´tes du RhĂ´ne – Les Deux Albion 2016 from Rhone. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“Les Deux Albions is one of the outstanding wines of Louis Barruol’s collection and highlights the exceptional value that can still be found in the Côtes-du-Rhône category. The wine combines depth, structure, and finesse with aromas and flavors of roasted game, mesquite, and olive, crushed plum, and black currants.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Clos Sainte-Anne Côtes de Bordeaux 2014 from Bordeaux. Notes on the wine,

“Cardinal red with a deep concentration. Red and black fruit, black pepper, licorice, vanilla, cassis, and mocha. Nice attack on black fruit, good freshness, well balanced, silky tannins, great structure, excellent bottle.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

Want to jump over to France and enjoy a month full of magnificent wines and cuisine? Yeah, us too! But if you’re like the rest of us who can’t just leave their jobs and travel abroad, then let’s think outside the box, shall we?

SOHO is featuring our favorite French wines for the month of July, and we couldn’t be happier! You can stick close to home, but still enjoy the best parts of France without the sting of airfare and jet lag.  Sound good?

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday, July 11th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through July 17th.

First, SOHO will pour a Bieler Pere et Fils RosÊ 2017 from Provence. The winemaker offers,

“Bieler Pere et Fils Rose tastes like biting into a freesia-infused apple in a sexy-hippy version of the garden of Eden. It’s clean, light taste seems to promise that attractive strangers are about to drape your body in crisp, sun-dried linen before leading you to a hammock where sultry events will unfold. And with this Rose you don’t have to worry about morning-after guilt, because one sip will make even regret taste sweet.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Domaine de La PrÊbende Beaujolais 2016 from Beaujolais. The wine is described by the winemaker,

“The Anna Asmaquer Beaujolais is an old vines blend with profound minerality, a bright wild berry nose, and possesses typique Beaujolais finesse. The grapes are harvested manually and vinified completely without sulp[her dioxide. The wines are not chaptalized, filtered, or degassed and only natural yeasts are used for the fermentation. La Prébende crafts one of the best Beaujolais AOC values available today.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Chateau Saint-Andre Corbin St Georges-St Emilion 2015 from St Emilion, Bordeaux. Notes on the wine,

“Intense purple robe. Rich fruity nose of ripe Merlot: chocolate and toasty oak flavors. Full, round, lush, fruit driven palate with excellent structure, balance and silky tannins.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

Bieler Pere et Fils RosĂŠ 2017
