Over the past decade South American Wines have taken the world by storm! First it was Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere, and more recently Malbec from Argentina, especially from the Mendoza and Salta regions in the Andean foothills. Get ready for Tannat from Uruguay…it’s the next big thing! SOHO is bringing the best to you in Atlanta, and we’re excited to share these gems with you.
This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday, June 6th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through June 12th.
First, SOHO will pour a Familia Deicas Tannat 2015 from Uruguay. The winemaker offers,
“The wine has a deep violet color, intense fig, floral, and mineral aromas, with a juicy palate texture and bright, fresh finish.”
Next, SOHO will pour a Pascual Toso Reserva Malbec 2015 from Maipú, Mendoza. The wine is described by the winemaker,
“This is a solid red with a dense and chewy texture. Full bodied, layered and rich. Tight focused. Very pretty. Drink now or hold.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a Cousiño-Macul Dama De Plata 2015 from Maipo, Chile. Notes on the wine,
“Of an elegant violet color and a complex aroma composition, Dama de Plata has a fruity nose, filled with cherries, plums and spices. In mouth you will find elegant and firm tannins. This wine is a medium bodied wine, with an excellent balance between fruit and oak.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
