This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday, April 4th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through April 10th.
First, SOHO will pour a Rogo Valdeorras Godello 2016 from Valdeorras, Galacia. The winemaker offers,
“Pale gold. Tightly focused lemon and quince aromas are complemented by deeper peach and honey qualities. Lively and sharply focused in the mouth, offering vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a spicy ginger flourish. Finishes taut, energetic and long, featuring lingering suggestions of bitter citrus rind and pear skin.”
Next, SOHO will pour a El Cantico Crianza 2011 from Rioja. The wine is described by the winemaker,
“Deep red. Smoke-accented red berries, cherry-vanilla and peppery spices on the fragrant nose. Fleshy and gently sweet on the palate, offering lively red fruit and oak spice flavors that deepen on the back half. The clinging nish features even tannins and an echo of fresh raspberry.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a Gran Clos Priorat 2012 from Priorat. Notes on the wine,
“Deep, rich, inky purple. Sublime aromas recall a blend of fresh blueberries and blackberries, kirsch and mineral nuances, mingled with toasty new oak and floral notes. Velvety smooth with fine tannins that are intense and ample with a richly textured structure and pronounced complexity.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
