Throughout March, SOHO is showcasing the wines and flavors of California. While we love the wine of Napa Valley, the rest of the state produces wines that shine as well, so come explore the other wine regions of California. Paired with tapas by Chef Joey Zelinka, our flights are not to be missed!
This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday, March 14, and the wines and their tapas will be available through March 20.
First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Steele “Block N” Pinot Noir from Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Barbara. The winemaker notes,
“This vineyard, given its coastal influence, produces a wine with freshly picked strawberry, bing cherries, cloves and spice, aromas and flavors. But still has a balance of acidity and a finish that lingers of sweet tobacco and spices.
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Meyer Family Cellars Syrah from Yorkville Highlands. The wine is described,
“bursts with a ripe mixture of huckleberry, blueberry, and plum. Behind the fruit a savory backdrop mingles with violet, pepper, and wet earth. Two years in a barrel has softened the palate and added aromas of vanilla, cedar and clove.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2015 Halter Ranch “Synthesis” from Paso Robles. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes:
“A perennial favorite at Halter Ranch, Synthesis is our Cabernet Sauvignon based blend that continues to over deliver in deliciosity. Both red and black fruits and cassis dominate the nose, followed by flavors of black cherry and plums. Smooth and approachable, this wine is great on its own, but also pairs with virtually everything.”
