Throughout March, SOHO will journey west and showcase the wines and flavors of California. While we love the wine of Napa Valley, the rest of the state offers exceptional wines as well, so come explore the other wine regions of California. Paired with tapas by Chef Joey Zelinka, our flights will have you California Dreamin’.

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday, March 7, and the wines and their tapas will be available through March 13.

Grapes

First, SOHO will pour a Lieu Dit Sauvignon Blanc 2016 from Santa Ynez Valley. The wine is described,

“The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is absolutely gorgeous. Melon, pear, fig and sage are all beautifully delineated in the glass.”

Next, SOHO will pour a Smith & Hook Red Blend 2014 from the Central Coast. The wine’s tasting notes,

“Opulent aromas of blackberry and cherry, accompanied by vanilla and toasted oak. The refined yet robust palate is full bodied, lush and structured with layers of black fruit and toasted oak.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a Mettler Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 from Lodi. The winemaker says,

“It opens with inviting aromas of dark cherry, cola, cedar, mineral and earth. The graceful mingling of cherry, cranberry and sweet oak flavors have a freshness of character and a whisper of vanilla. On the palate, the rich mouthfeel is moderated by juicy acidity, and the long finish is reminiscent of a fine Bordeaux.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
