Sonoma County Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cab; what more could you ask for? This is truly the trifecta of wines we enjoy bringing to our guests! Three great vineyards paired with three DELICIOUS tapas makes everybody pretty happy, if we do say so ourselves. And that’s what it’s all about, right? Come get into the spirit of Sonoma with us at SOHO; we know you won’t regret it!

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday August 30th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through September 5th.

First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Jordan Chardonnay from Russian River Valley, and offers the following tasting notes,

“Enticing aromas of pear, kiwi and lychee. The palate is round, creamy and refined, with layers of lemon curd, bright acidity and a kiss of caramel from barrel aging. A juicy, succulent wine that leaves a lasting impression of fresh Meyer lemon and stone fruits on the crisp finish.  Enjoy now or cellar through 2021.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Alysian Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast.  The wine is described as,

“ 2013 Alysian Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir shows aromas of pomegranate, red cherry, and a funky forest floor. Flavors of raspberry, bright plum and mint carry on a lingering finish. Pleasant brightness makes this a wonderful food friendly wine. Although entirely approachable now we encourage you to experience its evolution through 2025.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2014 Trig Point Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Dust Vineyard from Alexander Valley.  The winemaker says,

“Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, spice and licorice. Black currant and cherry flavors are accented with sage and dark chocolate. Full-bodied on the palate, this vintage shows subtle espresso bean and mocha notes in a soft, supple finish.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joe Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

We finish up this last week of August with a few of our favorite Sonoma County wines, and we think you’ll be pleased!  A Gewürztraminer, a Zin, and a Cab that are delicious in their own right, but when paired with Chef Joe’s tapas, just come to life! Stop by and see us; you won’t be disappointed!

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday August 23rd, and the wines and their tapas will be available through August 29th.

First, SOHO will pour a 2015 Gundlach Bundschu Gewürztraminer from the Sonoma Coast, and offers the following tasting notes,

“Alluring aromas of ripe pears, tropical fruit, peach blossoms, and zesty lemon complement the 2015 vintage’s mouth-filling and rounded texture. A beautiful expression of 158 years of Gewürztraminer expertise, this pairs with everythingfrom Asian cuisine, to Thanksgiving turkey, to a sunny afternoon.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2014 Valravn Old Vine Zinfandel from Dry Creek & Russian River.  The wine is described as,

“Layers of richness and complexity wrap around a core of wild strawberry and
raspberry. Intoxicatingly aromatic with scents of mocha, espresso roast, violets and ripe red berries. Rich on the palate with flavors of framboise, blackberry compote, and hints of licorice-laced black pepper.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Kendall Jackson Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley.  The winemaker says,

“This Cabernet shows mountain intensity in its rich blackberry, black currant and cassis -avors. It’s bone dry, with thick but refined long tannins, and brightened by a burst of fruit and acidity. Blended with a little Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for complexity, it drinks beautifully now, and will age for a decade or longer.”

Everybody loves this time of year in Atlanta.  Summer is finished, kids have gone back to school, and we all get back into our routines before the holidays sneak up on us again. It’s that amazing time when patio weather is just starting to be an option again, and you can find our guests and friends catching up over a few glasses of wine and some good conversation.

Everybody loves the month we feature Sonoma County, and for good reason!  With so many vineyards to choose from, we delight in the choices of wines and particularly enjoy tasting what Chef Joe Zelinka is going to create for the tapa pairings each week! If you haven’t taken a moment to breathe, and enjoy a glass of wine yet, then come see us at SOHO.  We’ve missed you!

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday August 16th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through August 22nd.

First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Sbragia Chardonnay from Dry Creek Valley, and offers the following tasting notes,

“Farmed by our family for decades, Home Ranch Vineyard is located at the southeast end of Dry Creek Valley, where temperatures are cooler than most of the appellation. This vintage shows wonderful aromas of melon, fig, green apple and citrus with slight oaky spice. Expect bright acidity and a long finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 LOLA Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley.  The wine is described as,

“Deep garnet color, this wine has the aromas of fresh wild strawberry, cherry, red currant, and a hint of vanilla bean, complimented by notes of cedar and cinnamon. Refreshing acidity and delicate tannins reveal themselves in the long finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2014 Rodney Strong Cabernet from Knights Valley.  The winemaker says,

“This deeply colored Cabernet is bursting with aromas of spicy dark plum, crushed blackberries and wild raspberry. The complex layers of spice and mocha chocolate on the palate are framed in rich, velvety tannins with a long lingering fi nish. Enjoy this Cabernet now with a grilled leg of lamb, a burger with gruyere cheese and sautéed mushrooms or cellar it to enjoy over the next 3 to 5 years.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joe Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

Some of the most drinkable (and certainly enjoyable) wines come out of Sonoma County, and we’re having a ball picking our favorites to share with our guests! This week we have a lovely fruity Sauvignon Blanc, a rich Zinfandel, and an elegant Cabernet for you to try! Did we mention the tapas? Chef Joe’s small plates are TO DIE FOR, so come hungry! A little sip, and a little nosh will pick your spirits right up!

Plan to stop by, treat yourself, and try our our wine flights each week!

This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday August 2nd, and the wines and their tapas will be available through August 8th.
