What’s your favorite quotation about wine?  Ours is, “The best wines are the ones we drink with friends.”

You can see this sentiment firsthand when you visit SOHO!  Our regular guests are friends, and our new guests become them as well, because everyone who walks through our doors enjoys amazing food, unique wines, and a place to relax after a long day.  We are proud to say that we’ve been offering this experience for 20 years, and we’re excited for what the future holds!

As we continue into the month of April, we celebrate Spain and its beautiful wines and food.  This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday April 12th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through April 18th.

First, SOHO will pour a 2015 Finca Antigue Viura from La Mancha, and offers the following tasting notes,

“Finca Antigua Viura is a light-bodied white wine with moderate acidity. It shows floral notes and white fruit on the nose, while the palate is soft with a citrus apple finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2014 Juan Gil Monastrell from Jumilla.  The wine is described as,

“Deep purple/black color. Explosive aromas of ripe currant, red berries and smoked notes. Rich, powerful and voluminous on the attack, a huge mouthful of crème-de-cassis concentration, silken and juicy in the mid-palate with excellent length and persistence. Fine, ripe tannins, at once supple and structurally present.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Rioja Bordón Reserva from Rioja. The winemaker says,

“Of an intense ruby color with deep brick colored iridescences. In the nose it is intense and rich in resinous and spicy tones, On the palate it is smooth and velvety, it is full flavored and broad, very elegant retro nasal taste.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef Joey Zelinka has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
