One of the great things about California is that there are so many different wine regions, not just Napa! There are tremendous wines that are produced every year, and SOHO is proud to showcase them for the month of March!
This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday March 15th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through March 21st. Enjoy!
First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Treana Blanc from the Central Coast, and offers the following tasting notes,
“Pale gold in color, enticing fruit aromas of pineapple, guava and Mandarin orange are accentuated by floral notes of honeysuckle and citrus blossom. On the palate, the entry is plush with a seductive, silky texture that complements the harmonious blend of tropical, citrus and stone fruit flavors that are softened by creamy vanilla, clove and nutmeg.”
“Rich in ripe cherry, red raspberry and fresh strawberry, this youthful Pinot Noir drinks complex with hints of cinnamon, cardamom, sandalwood and cola. Offering an elegant structure, silky tannins and bright acidity, this Pinot Noir is captivating in its youth and makes a wonderful counterpart to a variety of dishes.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2014 The Arsonist Matchbook red blend. The winemaker says,
“… alluring aromas of black currant, cranberry and mocha that intermingle with spice and black pepper. Sweet wild berry fruit flavors on the entry, dry as the wine progresses across the palate. An opulent and luscious wine with the essence of dried blueberries and juicy plum that seamlessly transition to a lengthy finish with hints of dark chocolate and truffle tannins.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef, Joey Zelinka, has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
