As we move into December in Atlanta, it gives us the opportunity to reflect on what an amazing year 2016 has been for us at SOHO. We’ve experienced many changes, (resulting in growth) but the one thing that has remained constant is our love of wine!
In December, we bring back the most popular wines of the year to make their final showing, and we begin to look forward to what 2017 will bring us! This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday December 7th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through December 13th.
First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Beaux Freres “Les Cousins” Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, and offers the following tasting notes,
“A bit darker, Medium ruby to red. The nose is of fresh red Oregon fruits & berries, a cherry aromatic is supported by more cola spice and a touch of subtle oak. This is a finesse styled Beaux Freres. Medium bodied with light-sweet tannins, very good purity and depth. The texture here is beguiling as well.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Cloisonne Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. The wine is described as,
“A complex wine with layers of deep black fruits. Deep aromas of black cherry, cassis, black tea, cedar, cigar box, and cocoa. Long finish with baking spices on the palate. Gripping tannins that add structure and weight to this special wine. Aged for 27 months using 100% French oak to create a masterpiece.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2014 Notre Dame de Cousignac Châteauneuf du Pape from Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône. The winemaker says,
“Intense, yet elegant with red fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, and black currant harmoniously balanced by black pepper, eucalyptus, and leather notes. A full-bodied wine with a delicate earthy component on the back palate and attractive tannins.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
