It’s no secret SOHO loves its wine! We pride ourselves on offering a variety of exceptional, hard to find wines so that everyone that dines with us can try new things not found in most places. For the month of November, we are featuring the amazing and diverse wines of the Southern Hemisphere for your drinking pleasure! Join us in celebrating wines from Australia this week, with accompanying tapas from our Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler. This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday November 16th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through November 22nd .
First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Innocent Bystander Pinot Noir from Yarra Valley, Australia, and offers the following tasting notes,
“The nose explodes with dark cherries, cranberries and fresh raspberries backed by subtle nutmeg and cinnamon spices. Underlying truffles and meaty, wet earth and mushroom notes add complexity. The juicy palate displays fresh berries with a slippery, rich and slightly tart finish.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Robert Oatley Shiraz from McLaren Vale. The wine is described as,
“Soft, fleshy-textured Shiraz displaying blueberries and spice, supple tannins and stylish French oak influence.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Shinas Estate “The Verdict” Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaker says,
“This has a dark plum color with a slight crimson hue. It showcases aromas of ripe blackberries, vanilla and dark chocolate leading into a palate packed with riveting flavors of black cherry, red plums, and ripe strawberries. With a solid-built frame of tannin and crisp acid, the wine manages to find balance with the equitable amount of plush texture.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!
