First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Beaux Freres “Les Cousins” from Willamette Valley.  The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,

“A bit darker, Medium ruby to red.  The nose is of fresh red Oregon fruits & berries, a cherry aromatic is supported by more cola spice and a touch of subtle oak. This is a finesse styled Beaux Freres. Medium bodied with light-sweet tannins, very good purity and depth. The texture here is beguiling as well.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Amavi Cellars Syrah from Walla Walla Valley.  The wine is described as,

“Smells like: blueberry, blackberry, dusty leather, cracked black pepper.  Tastes like: raspberry, black currant, olive tapenade.  Mouth feel: elegant acidity, complex tannin, lengthy finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2014 Andrew Will Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Valley. The winemaker says,

“This 2014 wine is medium to full bodied. It has a remarkable depth of flavors. It is fresh on the palate and has an alluring nose of violets and pencil shavings. Champoux Vineyards is the source for this wine. This is sensational fruit.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Argyle Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley.  The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,

“Argyle Pinot Noir is an honest representation of the Willamette Valley. The nose leans towards dark cherry, red raspberry and earthy minerality, while the middle palate is lush and graceful.  On the back end, the wine builds density and focus as the silky, yet subtly firm tannins build into the long, energetic finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 L’ Ecole #41 Merlot from Columbia Valley.  The wine is described as,

“Layered with enticing aromas of black cherry, violet and rose petal.  This full bodied Merlot shows a bright core of red fruit, blackberry, and baking spice on a seamless finish of fine grained tannin.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Browne Tribute Red Blend from Columbia Valley. The winemaker says,

“This silky red blend offers big fruit flavors and well-integrated, velvety tannins. Aromatics of pipe tobacco, leather and dark fruit layer with ripe boysenberry flavors and a hint of black pepper. The finish lingers with blackberry jam and toasty, graphite back notes.

SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a suggested tapa plate to pair with each of the wines!

A warm growing season with high quality fruit provides a soft entry, silky mouth feel, and boasts a flavorful combination of red fruit, cola and oak.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Northstar Merlot from Columbia Valley.  The wine is described as,

“The 2012 vintage has rich concentrated aromas of cherry, raspberry and chocolate that lead into flavors of cedar and vanilla with a lingering toasted oak finish. This highly structured wine was created to enjoy now, or for many years to come as it will age gracefully. Enjoy!”

First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Van Duzer Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley.  The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,

“This wine represents the core of our production. Aromas of Bing cherries, wild strawberries and layers of stewed plums harmonize with white peppercorn, bourbon, vanilla and hints of roasted almonds. Floral notes of lilac and rose petals compliment the subtle fragrance of butterscotch. A savory attack leads into a bright, acid-driven mid palate.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Three Rivers Winery Red Blend from Piedmont.  The wine is described as,

“.. The dominance of Sangiovese creates structure and complexity, while the Malbec, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon provide balance to the wine and add savory notes to this blend. This medium bodied wine is filled with aromas and flavors of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and finishes with a touch of cedar.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Mercer Estate Cabernet from Horse Heaven Hills. The winemaker says,

“Aromas of blueberry, dark plum, and blackberry jam are elevated with hints of tobacco, caramel, and sweet vanilla.  The lush fruit continues in the palate with a nice lift of mint. The well integrated oak and sleek tannins lead into a velvety finish with a nice touch of acidity on the end. This wine is a lovely balance of power and grace.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created tapas plates for each of the wines!
