Happy Fall, everyone! SOHO is especially pleased to celebrate the amazing wines of Italy during the month of September for our Flight Nights. The owners, Frank and Susan Smith were married in Italy, and vacation there yearly! This week’s Flight Night begins on Wednesday September 7th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through Tuesday, September 13th!
First, SOHO will pour a 2015 IL Poggione Lo Sbrancato Sangiovese Rosato from Montalcino. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,
“Rose color; on the nose it shows floral flavors, red fruits – strawberries, raspberries and spices. On the palate, its body and freshness make it an excellent rose with the freshness of a young Sangiovese.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Viberti Giovanni Lange Nebbiolo from Nebbiolo. The wine is described as,
“Colour: light ruby red. Bouquet: mature red fruit flavour with evident notes of cherries.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Brancatelli “Valle Brancatelli “Valle delle Stelle” from Tuscany. The winemaker says,
“Color: Deep ruby, intense violet hues. Aroma: Intense, characterized by fruity hints of cherry and floral notes and spices. Taste: Harmonious, pleasant, elegant, with good soft texture and long finish.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created tapas plates for each of the wines!
