As August brings cooler temperatures, SOHO celebrates the intriguing wines of Sonoma for our Flight Nights! This week begins on Wednesday August 17th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through Tuesday, August 23rd!
First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Au Contraire Pinot Gris from Sonoma County. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,
“ Color: Medium lemon. Aroma: Layers of floral notes are accented by intense and fresh citrus fruit and a hint of spice. Taste: Crisp acidity and a clean, refreshing mouthfeel.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Sean Minor Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast. The wine is described as,
“Our Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is medium-bodied with rich aromas of plum, cherry, green tea and a slight clove spice. On entry, the wine has a lean entry with rich and sweet cherry and plum flavors framed by vanilla and oak notes throughout the mid-palate. The spicy finish lingers on the palate.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 Fortress Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County . The winemaker says,
“Fortress delivers aromas of dark fruit, mocha and baking spices on the nose. The palate exhibits well integrated tannins that complement the subtle earthy flavors of pomegranate, blackberry and sweet pipe tobacco. With a rich, opulent mouth feel, Fortress is an approachable wine with a silky, lush finish.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapa plate to be paired with each wine!
2014 Au Contraire Pinot Gris 100% Pinot Gris Paired with Smoked Scallop, Diced Georgia Peach, Old Bay
2013 Sean Minor Pinot Noir 100% Pinot Noir Paired with Housemade Duck Cotechino, Poached Duck Egg, Smooth Chimichurri
2012 Fortress Cabernet Sauvignon 82% Cabernet, 7% Syrah, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, 3% Cab Franc Paired with Pork Cheek Sugo, Piquillo Peppers, Pappadelle Pasta
Sample each wine in a flight (three three-ounce glasses) for $14.25. Or, pair the flight with a tapa plate for $19. Try a full glass of wine and tapa plate for $13. Of course, the wines and tapas are available individually as well ($9.50/glass and $6.50/tapas).
We can’t wait to see you!
This is one of my favor spots in Sonoma – right at that sign. There are several of them throughout the area, particularly Russian River, and I always wonder why we don’t have them in Napa as well.
Ours too! Very cool to see. Thanks for saying hi!
