Continuing into the month of July, SOHO will celebrate the lovely and diverse wines of France for its Flight Nights! This week begins on Wednesday, July 20th, and the wines and their tapas will be available through Tuesday, July 26th!
First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Ch. L’Hospitalet Grand Vin White from Languedoc, la Clape. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,
“A pale yellowish gold color. Powerful, fresh bouquet. Aromas of citrus fruit, white fruits (pear and quince), garrigue and aniseed, and notes of grilled hazelnuts. Very fine and mineral on the palate, with hints of white pepper and flint. Very fresh in the finish with notes of acacia honey.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Puydeval from Pays d’Oc . The wine is described as,
“Big, rich, concentrated and intense. A ripe, polished and well-balanced wine, offering spicy aromas of black cherry and blackberry, with hints of anise, and just a touch of earthy character.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2009 Chateau Loudenne. The winemaker says,
“A beautiful deep color. An intensive and complex nose of red fruits with toasted and vanilla notes. The attack is straight and round, the mouth is structured and ample with a long-lasting finish. A beautiful wine with a good ageing potential.”
SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapa plate to be paired with each wine.
