First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Maison Louis LaTour “Le Grande Roche”, Burgundy.  The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,

“Of a bright, light golden color, our Montagny 1er Cru “La Grande Roche” 2014 has a complex nose with peach aromas and hints of muscat. Ample and floral in the mouth, it reveals iodine and peppery notes. A lot of freshness on the finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Romain Duvernay Gigondas, from Rhone.   The wine is described as,

“Comprised of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah, it knocks it out of the park on the nose, with loads of exotic spices, pepper, eucalyptus and sweet berry fruit-like notions all emerging from the glass. Medium-bodied, fresh and classically-styled on the palate, with good overall focus and high drinkability, it is upfront and ready to go.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Château Peyfaures Bordeaux Supérieur from Bordeaux .  The winemaker says,

“A sleeper of the vintage by producer Nicole Godeau, this blend of 85% Merlot and the rest the 2 cabernets displays elegance, purity, surprising density for a generic wine and plenty of black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with some loamy soil notes and underbrush.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapa plate to be paired with each wine.

First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Dme. De La Rossignole Sancerre from Loire Valley.  The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,

“Francois and Jean-Marie Cherrier with father Pierre produce steely and citrus-driven Sancerre from fine parcels of Sauvignon Blanc planted in Sancerre’s silex (flint) and chalky soils.  Yields are kept low and harvest is done strictly by hand before fermenting in 100% stainless steel. Vibrantly aromatic and mineral-driven, this is quintessential Sancerre.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Château de la Chaize Brouilly from Beaujolais, Bergundy.  The wine is described,

“Light ruby with purple tones, with aromas of fresh strawberries and raspberries. The palate has silky red fruits balanced by lively acidity.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 Notre Dame de Cousignac Châteauneuf du Pape .  The winemaker says,

“Intense, yet elegant with red fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, and black currant harmoniously balanced by black pepper, eucalyptus, and leather notes.  A full-bodied wine with a delicate earthy component on the back palate and attractive tannins.”

SOHO’s Executive Chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapa plate to be paired with each wine.

First, SOHO will pour a 2015 Joseph Cattin Riesling from Alsace.  The winemaker offers the following tasting notes,

“Appearance: bright and pale yellow with green reflects.  Nose: mineral with citrus flowers.  Palate: fresh, dry and mineral, with grapefruit flavors.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2014 Domaine de la Noblaie “Chiens- Chiens” from the Loire Valley.  The wine is described,

“The Chinon rouge from the property is a case study in the balance between power and elegance, spice and softness, and fat and acidity. Jerome’s rouge is produced from a single block called “Les Chiens-Chiens:” 40-80 year old Cabernet Franc vines. This Chinon is lovely and perfumed, with tremendous length in the mouth.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Chateau Cap L’Ousteau from Haut Medoc.  The winemaker says,

“This Château Cap l’ Ousteau 2012 has a very intense and brilliant red garnet color. The nose, complex, persistant and spicy delivers cherry, black current and vanilla aromas. On the palate, the attack is supple and followed by a well balanced mouth with prune and redfruit jam notes. The finish is long.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapas plate to be paired with each wine.
