Throughout June, flight night at SOHO Atlanta restaurant will feature the wines and flavors of South America. The tour continues on Wednesday, June 8th! The wine and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, June 14th.
First, SOHO will pour a 2015 Bodega Garzón Albariño from Uruguay. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes, “The wine exhibits stone fruit aromatics like apricot and white peach while the mouth has a beautiful richness and mid-palate, along with a natural freshness, tension, and verticality coming from the granite soil.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Tikal Patriota from Mendoza, Argentina. The wine is described,“Deep reddish purple with aromas of bright berry/cherry fruit. Like swallowing a whole bowl of mixed ripe berries at once. Big body yet very balanced with luscious layers of raspberry, cherry, and cocoa flavors. Just a hint of baking spice at the end brings it all together.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Don Nicanor Nieto Senetiner from Lijan de Cuya. The winemaker says, “Our 2011 Don Nicanor Blend is an intensely colored with aromas of blackcherry and plum combines with delicate notes of vanilla and oak. Elegant and harmonious flavors of ripe red fruit come together on the palate, complimented by subtle tannins and lingering finish. This is a perfect wine for grilled or roasted lamb, pork, and soft cheeses.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapas plate to be paired with each wine.
