Throughout April, flight night at SOHO Atlanta restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of Spain. The tour continues Wednesday, April 20. The wine and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, April 26.
First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Vina Bujanda Crianza from Rioja. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes: “Vina Bujanda Crianza, made from 100% Tempranillo has excellent balance. It has low to moderate acidity. The palate consists of fresh stawberries and spice that age into flavors of rich cherry and tobacco.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2007 Bodegas Palacio Especial from Rioja. The wine offers an aroma of complex ripe fruit and well-integrated oak. On the palate it is rich and smooth with great length and finesse.
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Vall Llach Embruix de Vall Llach from Priorat. The winemaker says, “Immediately agreeable, but with a powerful repertoire of rich aromas, flavors and textures, this is a wine that satisfies both the connoisseur and casual consumer alike. With hints of sweet spice, ripe plums, fennel seed, dark chocolate and roasted nuts found both in the nose and on the palate.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapas plate to be paired with each wine.
