Throughout April, flight night at SOHO Atlanta restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of Spain. The tour continues Wednesday, April 13. The wine and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, April 19.
First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Ladera Sagrada Papa Godello in Valdeorras. The winemaker says of the wine, “Precise, high-pitched aromas of lime zest, quinine, jasmine and ginger. Juicy , focused and youthfully tight, with bright acidity adding bite to fresh citrus and orchard fruit qualities. Shows a suave blend of power and vivacity, finishing with lingering floral and lime qualities.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Torres Celeste Crianza from Ribera del Duero. The winery offers the following tasting notes: “Black cherry in color. Intense nose, with floral and ripe red fruit notes, followed by toasted notes. A round attack, pleasant and unctuous, with smooth tannins. Long and elegant.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Veraton from Campo De Borja, Aragon. Robert Parker, Jr. reviewed the wine and had this to say on eRobertParker.com: “This is a blockbuster, 100% Old Vine Grenache cuvee, with a deep purple color, great intensity, loads of blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, with licorice, lavender and a touch of graphite and earth.”
