Throughout March, flight night at SOHO Atlanta restaurant has showcased the wines and flavors of California . The tour of the west continues on Wednesday, March 23. The wine and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, March 29.
First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Luli Pinot Noir from Santa Lucia Highlands. Tasting notes for the wine: “The best Luli Pinot Noir to date! It has pretty aromatics dominated by expressive wild strawberry and red cherry, followed by notes of baking spice and plums. On the palate the wine has a full-bodied texture accented by soft and approachable tannins that draw out into an elegant, long finish.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2014 tenshən red from Santa Barbara County. The winemaker offers the following notes for the Rhône style blend, “Purple fruits, white pepper and nuances of spring flowers blend with rich flavors, sweet tannins and a big finish.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Mettler Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi. The winemaker notes, “Our 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows off a dark, purple-red color in the glass. It opens with inviting aromas of dark berries, cedar, oak and spice, followed by a graceful mingling of cherry, blackberry, currant and sweet oak flavors. On the palate, the plush mouthfeel is moderated by juicy acidity, taking the perfect alignment of fruit, oak and tannins through to a flawless finish.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Jeff Sigler, has created a tapas plate to be paired with each wine.
