Throughout March, flight night at SOHO Atlanta restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of California . The tour of the west begins Wednesday, March 2. The wine and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, March 8.

First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Run Riot Central Coast Pinot Noir. The wine is created from vineyards in Arroyo Seco, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County. The following tasting notes are offered: “Beginning with restless aromas of dark cherry, spice and smoked meat, notes of black fruit are feverishly pursued by cocoa powder and barbequed spices balanced with bright acid and soft, round tannins on the fortuitous finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour the 2012 Michael David Winery Petite Petit from Lodi. Robert Parker scored the wine at 91 points and offered the following review: “Opulent ripe fruit on the attack, a touch of spicy cinnamon accents the lovely fruit. The long and vibrant finish is full of personality.”

Finally, SOHO will pour the 2013 Halter Ranch Vineyard ‘Synthesis.’ The winemaker offers the following tasting notes: “Synthesis blends the power and complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness and elegance of Syrah. A harmonious combination, this wine offers aromas of red and black fruits with flavors of currants and blackberries leading to a smooth finish with well-integrated tannins.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created a tapas plate to be paired with each wine.
