Throughout February, flight night at SOHO Atlanta restaurant will showcase the wines of Italy. The Italian adventure continues Wednesday, February 17. The wine and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, February 23.
First, SOHO will pour a 2014 Antinori Castello Della Sala Estate Chardonnay. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes: “A brilliant yellow color with greenish highlights, the wine shows fresh and complex aromas with delicate notes of tropical fruit such as pineapple and citrus fruit in addition to hazelnut butter and vanilla. It is a wine with good structure, elegance, and minerality as well as a vibrant and balanced acidity.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Parusso-Langhe Nebbiolo DOC from Piedmont. The winemaker says of the wine: “Cranberry fragrance, blood oranges, peaches and Turkish mint, all supported harmoniously by a touch of cacao.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Le Palaie Bulizio Rosso Toscano IGT from Tuscany. The wine is described, “A round, supple red, this is rich with blackberry, black currant and vanilla aromas and flavors. Everything comes together nicely on the long, fruit and spice-filled finish.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created a tapas plate to be paired with each wine.
