Throughout the month of September, SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of Italy. The Italian tour continues on flight night Wednesday, September 30. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, September 6.
First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Piazzo Barbaresco. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes. “Bouquet: An aristocratic nose of red fruit jam, withered violets and geraniums with hints of cinnamon and green pepper. Taste: A warm, dry and full-bodied palate packed with structure; a long aromatic finish.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Allegrini La Grola IGT. The wine is described, “A full-bodied, intense and elegant wine. Deep ruby in color, it has a wide and embracing bouquet with scents of wild berries and juniper, tobacco and coffee essence.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 Le Macchole Bolgheri Rosso DOC. The winemaker notes, “Brilliant ruby in color, this wine exhibits aromas of red fruits, blueberries, blackberries, spices and light, well-integrated vanilla notes. Medium-bodied, it possesses sweet, ripe tannins, and a balanced, refreshing acidity.”
