SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will continue to showcase the wines and flavors of South America on flight night, Wednesday, June 24. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, June 29.
First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Santa Julia Reserva Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. The winemaker says of the wine, “Medium bodied, with soft tannins and balanced acidity. Fruity and spicy finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Zuccardi Q Tempranillo from Mendoza, Argentina. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes: “Intense red ruby color. Ripe fruits like figs, cherries, plums, integrated with spicy aromas due to the oak aging. Soft entry with firm tannins and balanced acidity. Persistent finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Nieto Senetiner Terroir Blend Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. International Wine Cellar says “Bright ruby-red. Slightly tanky on the nose, but with enticing violet lift to the aromas of blackberry, cassis and bitter chocolate. Not especially complex but boasts good intensity and volume, and more sweetness than the more expensive 2011 Don Nicanor bottling. Finishes with gentle, ripe tannins and good length.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, and sous chef, Chris Lyons, have created a tapas plate to pair with each South American wine.
