The winemaker says of the wine, “A golden color with tinges of green greet the glass, followed by distinct aromas of fresh flowers offset by notable citrus notes led by grapefruit, lime zest and lively spices.

Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Alma Negra “M Blend” from Mendoza, Argentina. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes, “Dark berryfruit, dried cherries and hints of chocolate on the nose lead to flavors of ripe berries, black cherry, cocoa and a tinge of smoke in this dense and well-balanced wine. The finish lingers with dark ripe fruit, balanced acidity and a smooth mouthfeel.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2008 Haras de Pirque Haras Character Red Blend from Maipo Valley, Chile. The tasting notes for the blend state, “Deep purple color. Aromatic in the nose, natural herbs and spiciness dominating the fresh flavor of this wine. Typical notes of upper Maipo Valley distinguish this blend with tobacco, earthiness and mineral notes. Complex, elegant and long-lasting in the palate.

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, and sous chef, Chris Lyons, have created a tapas plate to pair with each South American wine.
