Throughout the month of May, SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will explore the wines and flavors of Napa Valley, California. The tour of Napa Valley begins on flight night, Wednesday, May 6. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, May 12.
First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Cultivar Sauvignon Blanc. Of the wine, the winemaker states: “This Sauvignon Blanc and Musque clone is very aromatic, with peach and nectarine fruit complemented by distinctive floral aromas. Stainless steel fermentation allows the wine to remain crisp and refreshing yet still having length on the palate.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Truchard Pinot Noir. The winemaker describes the wine: “A complex nose of plum, rhubarb, and wild strawberry; with hints of citrus blossom, tea, and earth. The mouth is silky; with bright flavors of cherry jam, cranberry, and sweet vanilla. Firm acidity and delicate tannins focus the palate and provide a lingering finish of spice and red fruit.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 BV Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is described, “Our 2012 Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon captures this area with briary blackberry, dark plum, black cherry, chocolate and tobacco leaf. The famous Rutherford Dust gives the wine cocoa-powder tannins and texture, while well-integrated oak adds toasty mocha notes to the generous aromas and expansive flavors.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created a tapas plate to pair with each Napa Valley wine.
