First, SOHO will pour 2012 Antica Napa Valley Chardonnay. The winemaker says, “The 2012 Chardonnay is pure, ripe, and richly flavored, yet fine and delicate. There are lots of distinctive peach, nectarine, and pear notes, finishing with subtle hints of vanilla and toast flavors. The finish on the wine is mouthwatering and gains depth with its long persistence on the palate.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 B Side Red Blend. Of the wine, the winemaker notes, “Fragrant aromas of cranberry cocktail, rich cherry and Tahitian vanilla are accompanied by hints of fresh oregano, purple basil and framed by toasty French oak nuances. Vibrant avors of blackberry compote, sweetened dried cherry and cappuccino are complemented by notes of black currant and sandalwood. This Bordeaux style blend is framed well by moderate acidity and rich, mouth lling tannins that will soften with age.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 St Supery Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaker describes the wine, “Rich, vibrant purple and red hues present in this wine. Blackberry and ripe currant aromas combine with black pepper, anise, toasted oak and smoky roasted mocha. Flavors of black plum and cassis complement flavors of roasted coffee bean and licorice. This is a structured Cabernet Sauvignon with fine texture, length, flavor and style.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created a tapas plate to pair with each Napa Valley wine.

First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Miner Viogner Simpson Vineyard. The winemaker notes, “Grower John Simpson’s sustainably-farmed vineyard in the warm, sunny Madera region of Central California has been our Viognier source since 1997. Whole cluster-pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks, this vibrant Viognier displays tropical and stone fruit characteristics with a consistent balance of natural acidity and intense concentration.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Charles Krug Merlot. Wine Enthusiast gave this wine 89 points and said, “A finely made Merlot with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Malbec and Petit Verdot blended in. It offers soft red currant fruit, with a nice integration of tannins on the palate. There’s a long grip of black pepper and clove on the finish, and the wine is balanced in weight and alcohol.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 Chappellet Mountain Cuvee Cabernet. From the winery: “The aromas are rich, ripe and enticing, with sweet fruit layers of plum, Bing cherry and cassis, as well as notes of mocha, roasted coffee, cedar and baking spices, all supported by delicious hints of French oak. On the palate, this wine is supple and round, with balanced tannins, weighty texture and a smooth, mouthfilling structure. Though there are abundant ripe red and black fruit flavors, there is also an elegant complexity to this wine that comes from artful blending.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created a tapas plate to pair with each Napa Valley wine.

First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Stags Leap “Hands of Time” Chardonnay. The winemaker describes the wine, “Created for restaurants only, this rare offering commemorates the winemakers and viticulturalists responsible for Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars impressive history. Spiced apple and vanilla aromas that meet citrus zest on the palate – it’s another for the history books.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Elizabeth Rose Yountville Pinot Noir. Of the wine the winemaker notes, “The Pinot Noir goes straight to barrel after press, giving the wine a slight wisp of smoke from the oak influence. Also present are pretty raspberry and strawberry aromas with generous flavors of cherry and plum. Light in color but bright in flavor and most importantly is easy to drink now.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 Cultivar Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaker states, “Our 2012 Napa Cabernet strikes that wonderful balance of intense, dark fruit with sweet tannins and refined structure. A touch of new oak comes through on the nose with hints of vanilla, violets and warm spices. The wine is dark and rich with ripe blackcurrant, plum and dark cherry flavors, complemented by an elegant finish that will leave you wanting more.”

First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Cultivar Sauvignon Blanc. Of the wine, the winemaker states: “This Sauvignon Blanc and Musque clone is very aromatic, with peach and nectarine fruit complemented by distinctive floral aromas. Stainless steel fermentation allows the wine to remain crisp and refreshing yet still having length on the palate.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Truchard Pinot Noir. The winemaker describes the wine: “A complex nose of plum, rhubarb, and wild strawberry; with hints of citrus blossom, tea, and earth. The mouth is silky; with bright flavors of cherry jam, cranberry, and sweet vanilla. Firm acidity and delicate tannins focus the palate and provide a lingering finish of spice and red fruit.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 BV Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is described, “Our 2012 Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon captures this area with briary blackberry, dark plum, black cherry, chocolate and tobacco leaf.
