SOHO Atlanta restaurant will continue to feature wines and flavors from Spain on flight night, Wednesday, April 22. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, April 28.
First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Josep Grau Winegrowers Vespres Red. The International Wine Review said of the wine: “The 2013 Vespres displays a dark ruby color and aromas of dark red fruit, minerals and spice. A blend of 80% Garnacha and 20% Carignan, it is fresh, soft and elegant on the palate with ripe fruit flavors, good structure and more depth than the Volador. The tannins are soft but firm and the finish long and pure. The grapes for this beauty are sourced from 50 to 70 year old vines. ”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Venta La Ossa Crianza. The wine is described: “On the palate, it shows a freshness. It has abundant notes of fruit, a good and highly integrated acidity, and firm tannins. A structured and deep wine. Long and persistent finish which leaves nice smoked and mineral nuances.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Artardi Vinas de Gain Rioja. Wine Enthusiast said of the wine: “Inky, minerally aromas of blackberry, black plum and coconut filter into a round, fluffy palate that’s friendly and pure but not very dense or structured. Baked flavors of molasses and gamy berry finish mild and easy.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, as created a tapas plate to pair with each Spanish wine.
