SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will continue to showcase the wines and flavors of California on flight night, Wednesday, March 25. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, March 31.
First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Byron Santa Maria Chardonnay from Santa Maria. The wine is described, “Our 2011 Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay displays fruit-forward citrus aromas, accented by hints of mineral and brown spice. On the palate, it is richly textured with stone fruit, fig, honey, spice and minerals.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Morgan Cotes du Crow’s from Monterey. The winemaker notes, “This Rhone-style blend has a rich ruby red color, highlighted with purple edges. Cherry pie, sweet spice and floral aromas jump out of the glass. The wine is medium-bodied with soft tannins; it offers a mouthful of blackberry, plum and coffee cake.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2013 Daou Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. Of the wine, the winemaker says, “Rich deep dark berry color with creamy mocha- espresso flavors is the first impression of this wine. The tannins are well integrated with the fruit and create a long finish that keeps going. It’s full bodied with a saturated finish while accompanied by bright acidity and infused by black current and cooked blueberries fruit. Balanced and intense.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created a tapas plate to pair with each California wine.
