SOHO Atlanta restaurant will continue to showcase the wines and flavors of Italy on flight night, Wednesday, February 25. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, March 3.
First, SOHO will pour 2010 Borgo Scopeto Chianti Classico DOCG. The wine offers a bouquet that is full and intense, but at the same time sweet and fruity, with hints of black soft fruit. There are pleasant overtones of noble wood, vanilla and cocoa and a surprising cherry finish. On the palate, the wine is dry, firmly structured, austere and elegant; well-balanced.
Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Speri Ripasso Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore. The winemaker says of the wine, “Intense ruby red color with hints of fruit, spices an cocoa. Warm and smooth on the palate, well-balanced and with a well-rounded tannin.
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 Le Volte dell’Ornellaia. Of the blend the winemaker notes, “The wine appears its classic rich hue, and boasts a bouquet that is generously fruity and subtly spiced. The elegant, silk-smooth tannins are immediately impressive, beautifully complemented by vibrant, refreshing acidity.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created tapas plates to pair with each Italian wine.
