SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of Italy throughout the month of February. SOHO will begin the Italian tour on flight night, Wednesday, February 4. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, February 10.
First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Il Borro Pian di Nova IGT Toscana. The wine is described, “The bouquet is intense, with strong spicy notes and black fruits. The taste is full-bodied with an alcohol that mellows the tannins. The persistence is good, with a spicy and fruity end.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Villa Cafaggio Chianti Classico. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 91 points saying “This stunning wine boasts a bright, vibrant character. The palate has a juicy core of black cherry spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon that recalls Christmas cake. It’s fresh and delicious, with silky tannins that make it easy to enjoy soon.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Piazzo Barbaresco. On the nose, the wine offers red jam, dried violets and spicy overtones. On the palate, the wine is warm and dry with a long aromatic finish.
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created a tapas plate to pair with each Italian wine.
