SOHO Atlanta restaurant will continue to spotlight the wines and flavors of Australia and New Zealand on flight night, Wednesday, November 19. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, December 2.
First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Neudorf Chardonnay from New Zealand. The winemaker describes the Chardonnay, “White gold in color, with hints of peach skin and nectarine and citrus notes followed by a complex and nutty palate. The use of oak is restrained and supportive without being overbearing.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Yangarra Estate Old Vine Grenache from McLaren Vale, Australia. The winemaker says of the wine, “A highly complex, intense beauty, with cherry and plums giving way to hints of licorice, dried spring flowers, cocoa and cinnamon spice. The palate is driven and concentrated, with fine sandy mineral tannins.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 John Duval Entity Shiraz from Barossa Valley, from Barossa Valley, Australia. Of the Shiraz, the winemaker says, “The 2012 Entity Shiraz displays deep ruby purple color with attractive blackberry and blueberry aromatics, intermingled with hints of savory spice. A full bodied and generous palate, with layers of dark berry fruit and youthful balanced tannins. Very pure and mouth filling, with ample structure.”
