SOHO Atlanta restaurant will showcase the wines and tapas of Washington and Oregon throughout the month of October. The tour of the American west begins on flight night Wednesday, October 1. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Wednesday, October 8.
First, SOHO will pour a 2013 Anne Amie Cuvee A Muller Thurgau. This Oregon wine offers aromas of honeysuckle, casaba melon, confectioner’s sugar, starfruit, kumquat. On the palate it offers flavors of key lime, pink grapefruit, yellow plum, gala apple, citrus pith. The finish is dry and rich.
Next, SOHO will pour a 2013 Witness Tree “Chainsaw” Pinot Noir. The winemaker says of this Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, “This wine presents aromas of fresh berries, dried herbs and barnyard and maintains a pure, clean mouth feel with a core of fresh red fruits.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a Columbia Valley, Washington, Gordon Estate 2010 Estate Grown Merlot. Wine Enthusiast says of the wine, “This round, rich and spicy estate-grown Merlot greets you with all the right stuff (and stuffing) from the first sniff. Clean berry and cherry fruit, with a light touch of peppery herb, rolls into silky tannins and pretty baking spices.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Washington and Oregon wine.
