This June, SOHO Atlanta restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of South America. The South American tour begins on flight night Wednesday, June 4. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, June 10.
First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Cueva de los Manos White Blend from Mendoza, Argentina. The winemaker says of the blend, “It exhibits copious notes of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, sweet corn and crushed rocks in its medium-bodied, well-delineated,
dry, pure style.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Ruca Malen Reserva Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. Of the Malbec, the winemaker notes, ““The layered bouquet opens with ripe red and black fruit, particularly cherries and plums, and is backed by floral notes of violets. It is lush on the palate with elegantly concentrated flavors and sweet, velvety tannins. A pleasant acidity keeps it fresh through
the lingering, persistent finish.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2012 MontGras Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah from the Colchagua Valley, Chile. The winemaker describes the wine, ““Deep ruby red with dark purple tones. Intense black fruit aromas with a hint of cedar and nuances of white
pepper. Ripe, juicy and Round. Flavors of blackberry and blueberry fill the mouth, leading to a beautiful, lingering finish of cedar and toast. “
