SOHO Atlanta restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of California on flight night, Wednesday, April 23. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, April 29.
First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Santa Barbara Pinot Noir. Wine Spectator said of the wine, “This polished Pinot is brimming with acidity. It’s bone dry and has a satiny, silky texture that frames delicate flavors of raspberries, cola and spices.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Matthew Fritz North Coast Cabernet. The winemaker describes the wine, “Inviting aromas of blackberry, cherry, spicy licorice and smoked meat. The palate is an elegant expression of North Coast Cab, combined by dark fruits, brown spices, black salted olives and hints of smoke. Tannins are firm, balanced with enough acidity to keep it fresh and pure.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Mettler ‘Epicenter’ Lodi Zinfandel. The winemaker says of the wine, “Enticing aromas of sweet brambly berries, candy apple and mocha delight the senses. The flavors are bright and complex with orange-scented dark chocolate, sweet black cherry and jammy red berries are balanced by notes of warm spices and oak. The velvety, yet firmly structured tannins are balanced by a pleasing thread of acidity, and the flavors are kept bright and juicy on the long, tasty finish.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created three tapas plates to pair with each California wine.
