SOHO Atlanta restaurant will continue to showcase the wines and flavors of California on flight night, Wednesday, April 16. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, April 22.

First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Byron Santa Barbara Chardonnay. The winemaker describes the wine, “Crisp and concentrated with flavors of stone fruit, honey, hints of brown spice and mineral.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Writer’s Block Petit Syrah. Says the winemaker, “Deep and rich, this Petite Syrah is lush yet accessible, spicy yet polished, sensual yet cerebral. [It also offers] layers of dark plum and earthy berry.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Gunsight Rock Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. The winemaker’s note, “Our 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon stays true to the characteristics of the Paso Robles region. 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine delivers solid fruit flesh on the palate with aromas of black fruit. The finish is spicy with notes of black licorice. An amazing every day Cabernet.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created three tapas plates to pair with each California wine.

2012 Byron Santa Barbara Chardonnay
Paired with: Seared sea scallops with a lemon caper butter

2011 Writer’s Block Petit Syrah
Paired with: Beef sliders topped with arugula, Gruyere, and garlic aioli

2011 Gunsight Rock Cabernet Sauvignon
Paired with: Grilled filet medallions over buttermilk mashed potatoes with a balsamic reduction

Sample each wine in a flight (three three-ounce glasses) for $13.50. Or, pair the flight with a tapas plate for $18. Try a full glass of wine and tapas plate for $12. Of course, the wines and tapas are available individually as well ($9/glass and $6/tapas). See you soon!
