SOHO Atlanta restaurant will continue to showcase the wines and flavors of Italy on flight night, Wednesday, March 26. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, April 1.

ItalyFirst, SOHO will pour a 2012 Tasca d’Almerita Leone from Sicilia. The winemaker describes the wine, “Color: Bright, straw yellow with green reflections. Bouquet: Pink grapefruit, citrus flowers, white peach, pineapple. Taste: Great personality, pleasantly soft rich intense and crispy.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2012 Li Veli Salice Salentino Passamante from Puglia. The wine is described, “Intense, bright ruby red color. Highly perfumed with strong, lingering sweet fruity notes, persistent with hints of fresh fruit. The flavor is well-balanced, soft velvety, fresh and fragrant, owing to a pleasant underlying acidity which lends it vigor and persistence on the palate.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Casanova di Neri Sant Antimo Rosso di Casanova di Neri from Tuscany. Says the winemaker, “This wine is born from the grapes of the “Cetine” vineyards to the south of Montalcino where our Brunello Tenuta Nuova and our Rosso di Montalcino come from. It is obtained from Sangiovese Grosso and Colorino grapes (the plants are reproductions of old varieties that we found in our oldest vineyards). Tasting notes: Intense ruby red, hints of wild cherry, violets and red fruits ample and easy to drink with excellent persistence.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Italian wine.
