SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will continue to showcase the wines and flavors of Australia and New Zealand on flight night, Wednesday, November 20. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available for two weeks, through Tuesday, December 3.

First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Saint Clair ‘Vicar’s Choice’ Pinot Noir from Marlborough, New Zealand. The winemakers describes the aroma: “Black currents and ripe red cherries interlaced with floral notes, aromatic spices and coffee.” As for the palate of the Pinot Noir: “Fresh black cherries and ripe black currents combine with balanced acidity, fine structured tannin and inviting fresh coffee finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Tournon ‘Mathilde’ Shiraz from Victoria, Australia. This Shiraz was rated 91 points by Robert Parker from Wine Advocate. On the nose the wine is deep with black fruits and pepper aromas. On the palate it supple and greedy with silky and elegant tannins.

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Robert Oatley Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River, Australia. The winemaker says of the wine: “A full-flavoured yet finely structured Cabernet of great appeal: black berries, dried leaves and fine gravelly tannin, reflect an outstanding year.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Australian and New Zealand wine.

Paired with: Veal Marsala with oyster mushrooms
