SOHO Atlanta Restaurant continues to showcase the wines and flavors of Washington state on flight night, Wednesday, October 9. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, October 15.

First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Alexandria Nicole Viognier from the Columbia Valley, Washington. The winemaker describes the wine: “With a beautiful floral bouquet, this wine expresses layers of ripe Anjou pear, peach, and lychee nut with hints of citrus, orange peel and melon.  While the Viognier itself is fresh and clean, the barrel fermentation imparts another layer of creamy texture, which lends to its rich and lengthy finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Waterbrook Malbec Reserve from Columbia Valley, Washington. The Malbec is described: “Wonderfully developed cherry aromas swirl in the glass. Juicy, dark flavors welcome you to the well-rounded palate. Layered notes of rich fruit, cocoa powder and leather lead to balanced tannins and lingering oak on the finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2011 Canoe Ridge Expedition Cabernet from Horse Heaven Hills, Washington. The Cabernet’s tasting notes: “Spiced floral and blackberry aromas lead to layered, juicy flavors of red currant, smoky plum, savory cherry and a hint of dusty chocolate. Polished texture and tannin balance leads to a deep velvety finish.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has prepared three tapas plates to pair with each Washington wine.
