The wines and flavors of Washington state have taken center stage at SOHO Atlanta restaurant throughout the month of October. For flight night on Wednesday, October 30, SOHO will offer a final taste of Washington. The wines and tapas introduced Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, November 5.
First, SOHO will pour a 2010 Columbia Crest Les Chevaux Red Wine from Horse Heaven Hills. The wine is described: “Aromas of fresh blueberries, anise and earth lead to firm and supple tannins on the palate. This red wine blend presents incredible depth, with layered flavors of candied nuts, licorice and dark chocolate that lead to a mocha finish featuring ample, sweet tannins.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Owen Roe Corvidae Lenore Syrah from Columbia Valley. The wine “has great spice, bright fruit, deep purple hues, and gorgeous texture.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2007 Col Solare from Columbia Valley. The winemaker describes the wine: “Aromas of black cherry, currant, and ripe black berries, together with subtle notes of espresso and vanilla in the nose. On the palate, this full bodied wine is rich with flavors of dark chocolate, black fruits, and a coconut spice which leads to a lingering, silky finish.”
Each Washington wine has been paired with a tapas plate specially crafted by executive chef Joe Ahn.
